Earlier, the director general of the organization, Rafael Grossi, who led the mission, said that the IAEA experts would remain at the power plant on a permanent basis. He also said that in a few hours of inspection of the Zaporizhzhya NPP he managed to collect enough important information and identify “key things”.

The IAEA mission arrived at the territory of the Zaporozhye NPP today from the Ukrainian-controlled city of Zaporozhye. A cortege of nine cars drove into the station at about 14:15 Moscow time. Prior to this, the Ukrainian side continued shelling Energodar, where the nuclear power plant is located.

Grossi also did not rule out the opportunity to communicate with the residents of Energodar, located in the Russian-controlled part of the Zaporozhye region. Grossi noted that the purpose of the mission is to prevent a nuclear accident. Among the experts who went to the station, there are no inspectors from Russia, Great Britain and the USA.
