United Russia wins the first elections in new regions of Russia

Deputy Chairman of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev, at a conference call with regional branches of the party following the results of a single voting day, said that United Russia performed “worthily” in these elections and “defended all the positions” that the party intended to retain.
“All elections there have also been completed, and this is very important, because as a result it will be possible to form a normal, full-fledged, legal Russian government in these regions so that it fulfills all its tasks, all its functions,” noted Dmitry Medvedev (quoted by TASS ).
