Unique copy of Zenith sold for 315 thousand francs

Phillips Geneva Watch Auction in November: A one-of-a-kind XVI Zenith Caliber 135 Unique Piece, made in collaboration with Phillips in Association with Bacs & Russo and independent watchmaker Kari Vutilainen, sold for CHF 315,000 (auction fee included) , the “hammer” price was 250 thousand francs). Proceeds from the sale of this one-of-a-kind copy will go to the Susan J. Komen Foundation, a non-profit organization fighting breast cancer.

Introduced in the summer Caliber 135 Observatoire Limited Edition 10 watch series made of platinum with movements Caliber 135-O immediately attracted the attention of collectors. The Manufacture has given a second life to its famous caliber, which won the most awards in the chronometric competitions of the 50s. Kari Vutilainen, on behalf of the Zenith Heritage Department, restored a batch of Caliber 135-O movements and decorated them to the highest standard. The exclusive character of the eleventh piece is enhanced by the niobium case (a rare metal used by the Manufacture for the first time), the sterling silver dial with a matt orange-pink finish, hand-decorated with a fish scale guilloche pattern, and the rose gold-coloured movement.
