More than 39,500 foreigners applied for a unified electronic visa (EEV) to Russia in September. During the second month of the project, the number of applicants increased by 30%, reported in the Telegram channel of the Consular Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

The issuance of EEV in Russia began on August 1. In the first half month of the project, foreigners received more than 31,000 visas. According to the department, the majority of permits to enter the country via the EEA were requested by citizens of China, Germany, Turkey, Estonia and India.

“Work is underway to expand the number of language versions of the specialized website on which the EEV is issued. Thus, in the near future the opportunity to choose the Chinese language will be provided,” the department noted.

In total, visas under the EEA program are available to citizens of 55 countries, including Iran, Vietnam, and European Union countries. EEV can be obtained for a tourist, humanitarian or business visit. The permit is valid for 60 days from the date of registration, and the period of stay in Russia according to the document is 16 days from the date of entry. To obtain a visa, documents must be submitted no later than four days before your visit to Russia.
