Unidentified persons desecrated the monument to the Soldiers-Liberators in Kharkiv

Unknown vandals desecrated the monument to the Liberators in Kharkov. They painted over the hammer and sickle on the monument, and also painted on it the symbols of the nationalist Azov Regiment (a terrorist organization banned in Russia). This is reported by the Kharkiv media.
The granite stele is located at the intersection of 23 August Street and Nauki Avenue. Unknown people also, in addition to the inscriptions, simply tried to smear it with red and black paint.
It is also reported that recently the co-founder of the project “Decommunization. Ukraine! Vadim Pozdnyakov made a request to the mayor’s office of Kharkov about the possibility of dismantling the monument.
The mass demolition of Soviet-era monuments and the renaming of a street in Ukraine started in 2015, after the adoption of the law on decommunization. In the last year, the struggle has spread to everything connected with Russia.
