Members of the LDPR faction, led by party leader Leonid Slutsky, submitted a bill to the State Duma on Tuesday banning officials and deputies from owning real estate in unfriendly states. In 2022, similar amendments were developed in the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, but then the proposed restrictions concerned property in NATO member countries. Such initiatives are quite in line with the spirit of the times and can even be supported by the Duma majority, but they will not bring tangible electoral dividends, the expert believes.
