UN urges to investigate reports of execution of Russian prisoners

The United Nations (UN) is calling for allegations of human rights violations to be investigated and those responsible to be held accountable, UN Deputy Chairman Farhan Haq said. So he commented on the video that appeared on the network with footage of the execution of Russian prisoners of war in the special operation zone.
“We call on all parties to the conflict to thoroughly investigate allegations of human rights violations and bring those responsible to justice.” said Hack (TASS quote).
This week, two videos appeared on the network, which allegedly depicted the execution of Russian prisoners of war by soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). The Russian Defense Ministry called these shots a confirmation of the “knuckle-blowing essence of the current Kyiv regime.” The department stressed that this case is not the first war crime committed against Russian prisoners of war.
The Investigative Committee of Russia opened a criminal case, and the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, demanded that international organizations condemn the execution of Russian prisoners by the Ukrainian military. The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) has begun studying the videos.
The execution of Russian prisoners of war in Makeevka was carried out by soldiers of the 80th separate airborne assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, declared formerly TASS officer of the People’s Militia of the Luhansk People’s Republic Andrei Marochko.
