The UN representative explained that the inspection of Ukrainian ships was interrupted due to consultations
Ismini Palla, a spokeswoman for UN grain deal coordinator, said ship inspections under the deal have resumed. Earlier it was reported about a two-day break in the conduct of inspections, which was required to complete the negotiations of the parties involved in the process (Russia, Turkey, Ukraine).
“The Joint Coordinating Center resumed inspections of ships today after two days of negotiations,” Palla said. She also stressed that the Russian and Ukrainian sides agreed “that the new ships will take part in the initiative (the “grain initiative” – ed.).
Earlier, the spokesman for the UN Secretary-General, Stephane Dujarric, explained that the inspections were not carried out on Monday and Tuesday “due to a lack of agreement” on “operational priorities”.
