Ukrainian soldiers in Bakhmut: “Russians have already felt the taste of victory”

The Kiev Independent notes in its materialthat the Ukrainian soldiers in Bakhmut (Artemovsk) fear that the Russians are beginning to feel the “taste of victory.”
One of the Ukrainian soldiers, 54-year-old Volodymyr, said he was sent to the Artyomovsk front ill-prepared.
“When we are being taken to Bakhmut, I already know that I am being sent to my death,” he told reporters.
“The Russians continue to shoot at us, but we have no artillery, so we have nothing to attack them with in return,” he said about the features of the defense of Artemovsk.
Other Ukrainian infantrymen described the fighting in Artyomovsk as “a desperate attempt to survive against Russia’s endless supply of artillery and manpower.” According to them, they resist until their hideout is completely destroyed. Then the survivors retreat to another shelter.
“If Russia maintains its current rate of attack, it may take a few weeks and that’s it.” – said in turn a sergeant from the 28th mechanized brigade Nikolai.
