Ukrainian prisoner of war Alexander Fedorov said that drug addicts began to be mobilized into the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, including those who have a criminal record under articles related to prohibited substances.
He clarified that he himself suffers from drug addiction, has two convictions for drugs and for possession of prohibited substances.
“I am a social drug addict, but the military registration and enlistment office simply turned a blind eye to this. It was very easy to break through my criminal records, especially at the level of the authorities, ”Fyodorov said.
According to him, he was mobilized on September 12 last year. The summons was handed to him in the Kharkov metro by military patrol officers. The medical board during the draft was conditional, everyone was taken into the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Fedorov added that drug addicts are quite common in the Ukrainian troops. Most of them take methadone.
“Methadone is distributed to drug addicts according to the official program of the Ukrainian authorities,” the prisoner of war noted.
