Ukrainian officer in conversation with a Polish publication Newsweek Poland stated that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are recruiting recruits who are afraid of the sounds of gunfire and suffer from shortness of breath.
According to him, currently in the ranks of the Ukrainian army one can see more and more people aged 45-47 years.
“These recruits begin to experience shortness of breath before they even reach the front line. At the same time, some of them are very afraid of the sound of a shot and therefore are unable to shoot,” noted an officer of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The authors of the publication added that in almost two years of hostilities, the average age of military personnel in the Ukrainian army has increased by 10 years and is already 43 years old.
