A member of the Ukrainian nationalist battalion, who tried to get to Crimea under the guise of a refugee, was sentenced to 8.5 years in a strict regime colony. This was reported in the press service of the regional department of the FSB of Russia.
In a press release from the Russian special services, it is noted that the verdict was passed on the defendant by the Kyiv District Court of Simferopol. It is noted that 51-year-old Ukrainian Rustem Gugurik was detained in March 2022 because he was a member of the illegal armed formation “Battalion named after Noman Chelebidzhikhan” (a terrorist organization banned in the territory of the Russian Federation).
In addition, the department emphasized that Gugurik tried to cross the border with Crimea under the guise of a refugee after Russia launched a special military operation on the territory of Ukraine. The offender was charged under Part 2 of Art. 208 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Organization of an illegal armed group or participation in it.”
