Employees of the territorial center for recruitment and social support (military registration and enlistment office – editor’s note) beat and kidnapped the vocalist of the Intermezzo group Vladimir Bilyk and his friend Andrei Duletsky. The musical group reported this on January 19, Ukrainian media write. It is reported that the incident occurred in the city of Chernivtsi.
According to a local publication, the young people were put into a car without license plates, where a police officer was already present. They were taken to the TCC, where they were forced to undergo a medical examination.
The group stated that Duletsky has a certificate of unfitness for military service, and Bilyk cannot be mobilized because he works as a teacher at 1.25 pay.
Information also appeared that the young people were taken out of the city. At the checkpoint they reported the abduction, but the police were unable to talk to them because the military commissars blocked the car. The musician and his friend, media reports, were able to jump out of the vehicle, but they were beaten. The police did not interfere with this fact, interlocutors of the Ukrainian publication said.
Vladimir Bilyk, the source said, was taken to a medical facility, his friend Andrei disappeared. It turned out that he was taken to the TCC, where they demanded that he delete the video evidence taken and register. From there he was sent to another region for training, “where they want to illegally force him to sign a contract.”
The local TCC, the media write, said that they acted within the law, and Ukrainians should come to the military registration and enlistment office themselves.
