In Ukraine, a deputy from the Ternopil region was detained, who, in exchange for bribes, offered to help the mobilized to avoid planned rotations to the front line. This was announced by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) in its telegram channel.
The detained deputy himself mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and, while serving in the region, began to help other conscripts for $6,000 to avoid being transferred to the battle zone in the south and east of Ukraine.
The surname of the deputy is not called, according to the SBU, he promised the military man, who was supposed to be sent to the front line, to “resolve the issue” with his leadership about a “delay”.
An entrepreneur familiar to the deputy took part in the transfer of the bribe, and he was caught red-handed.
The defendants face up to 8 years in prison with confiscation of property, the deputy was taken into custody. The involvement of the leadership of the local military registration and enlistment office in the corruption scheme is also checked.
