Ukrainian citizen detained in Nalchik on espionage case

A Ukrainian citizen suspected of espionage has been detained in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic. About it reported at the Center for Public Relations (CSP) of the FSB.
The man was detained in Nalchik. According to the department, on the instructions of the Security Service of Ukraine, he collected and handed over to them information of a “military nature” that is directed against the security of Russia.
The investigating authorities opened a criminal case under Art. 276 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (espionage). The FSB continues operational-search activities.
In May it was reported that a citizen of Ukraine sentenced to 16 years in a strict regime colony for spying on Russian defense enterprises. The court found that Andriy Petkevich “on the instructions of the intelligence services of Ukraine” tried to recruit employees of Russian defense enterprises “from among the secret carriers.” Its goals were to recruit and obtain legally protected information about promising developments in the field of small arms.
In June, the FSB detained former employees of the organization of the military-industrial complex (OPK), according to investigators, who worked for Ukrainian intelligence. Russian citizens were also detained, who are charged with transferring technical documentation and samples of military products to intelligence, as well as preparing to carry out explosions on the railway tracks of the Kursk and Belgorod regions, which are used to supply the Russian military involved in a special operation.
