During his speech on the Rada TV channel, the commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Mykola Oleshchuk, said that Ukrainian aircraft face defeat even at the stage of takeoff from the airfield.
Oleshchuk said: “…We will not have time to rise from the airfield yet, and our plane will be in the affected area.” According to him, planes are shelled daily both from the ground and from the air.
He also noted: “When our planes go on the attack, every minute our pilot is attacked by 5 to 9 aircraft of various types.”
The strikes of the Russian Armed Forces on energy, defense industry, military command and communications facilities throughout Ukraine began in October 2022, after the terrorist attack on the Crimean bridge. Ukrainian security services are behind the attack on the bridge.
