Ukrainian air defense missed the strike from an “invisible” missile from Russia

Ukraine’s air defense was unable to detect an “invisible” missile that struck the Trypillya thermal power plant. Former test engineer at KB Antonov, Konstantin Krivolap, expressed his thoughts regarding this incident on the air of the Pryamoy TV channel.

An aviation expert said that the cruise missile that hit the Trypillya thermal power plant had a number of characteristics that made it practically invisible to existing tracking systems. First of all, the missile flew very low to the surface, making it difficult to detect. In addition, it had a low thermal signature and radar signature, making it virtually invisible to satellites and AWACS systems.

“On our part there was not even an attempt to knock something away from that direction – it came and went,” the expert was surprised.

According to Krivolap, the main takeaway from this situation is that Ukraine needs to strengthen its radar systems to ensure effective air surveillance. The lack of sufficient radars has become a serious problem that needs to be addressed in the near future.

Some military analysts have already called the missed strike on the Trypillya thermal power plant a collapse of Ukraine’s air defense.
