The provocation planned by Ukraine at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant was prevented. This was stated by RIA Novosti on Saturday, a member of the main council of the administration of the Zaporozhye region, Vladimir Rogov.
According to him, on August 19, “everything was relatively calm” at the ZNPP.
He also said that “thanks to the publicity and early disclosure of the plans of Zelensky’s militants,” the provocation was prevented. Otherwise, “the consequences could be irreparable.”
Rogov stressed that he had no doubt that the Kyiv authorities would try to shell the power plant again.
Earlier, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the Kyiv regime was preparing a resonant provocation at the ZNPP by August 19 during a visit to Ukraine by UN Secretary General António Guterres. At the same time, it was planned to blame the Russian side for the man-made disaster.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine have been regularly shelling the ZNPP in recent weeks, and this threatens with a large-scale nuclear catastrophe. The servicemen of the 44th Artillery Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, according to Vladimir Rogov, use guided missiles and Western-made shells. The shelling has already damaged the high-voltage line of the Kakhovskaya substation, and the capacity of two ZNPP power units had to be reduced.
