Ukraine has withdrawn from three agreements regarding border cooperation with Russia, Belarus and within the CIS, Taras Melnychuk, a government representative in the Verkhovna Rada, said on his Telegram channel.
“The agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the government of the Russian Federation on cooperation and interaction in the field of development of checkpoints across the Ukrainian-Russian state border, concluded on 10/18/2011 in the city of Donetsk, has been terminated,” the message says.
Kyiv also terminated the agreement between the government of Ukraine and the government of Belarus on the organization of joint control at checkpoints on the Ukrainian-Belarusian state border, concluded on December 14, 1995.
A withdrawal from the agreement on preferential supplies to the border troops of the CIS member states of special equipment of border troops and other materiel, concluded on September 9, 1994, was also carried out, a representative of the Ukrainian government wrote.
The Ukrainian authorities regularly announce their withdrawal from the agreements that were concluded with Russia and Belarus, as well as within the CIS. The termination of such treaties became more frequent after the start of the military operation in Ukraine. So, at the end of May 2022, the country denounced an agreement to perpetuate the memory of the courage and heroism of the peoples of the CIS in the Great Patriotic War, as well as an agreement on the avoidance of double taxation of income and property and the prevention of tax evasion.
