Ukraine wanted to involve the port of Nikolaev in the export of products under the “grain deal”

Deputy Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Yuriy Vaskov said that the Cabinet of Ministers intends to involve the seaport in Nikolaev in the export of products as part of a food deal, the Ukrainian side plans to discuss this issue with the United Nations and the Republic of Turkey.
Within the framework of the international agreement, which was signed by representatives of the Russian Federation, Ukraine, Turkey and the UN on July 22 in Istanbul, an algorithm for the export of Ukrainian agricultural products from three Black Sea ports – Chernomorsk, Odessa and Yuzhny was defined.
“Both the opening of the port of Nikolaev for grain, and the expansion of the range of goods have always been on the agenda. We will discuss this as soon as possible. For us, this is important, but the issue of security is a key one,” quotes Vaskov Ukrainian news Internet portal “Liga.net”.
He stressed that the opening of Nikolaev for the export of grain and fertilizers lies in the humanitarian plane, where Kyiv hopes for the support of the UN.
Regarding the expansion of the range of goods here, according to Vaskov, the position of Ankara is important. In his opinion, Turkey is interested in this issue, since this is an increase in the number of vessel calls to the Black Sea and, consequently, a larger amount of fees – a direct economic impact on the Turkish economy.
