Ukraine received $100 million from the World Bank to pay pensions

The World Bank provided Ukraine with $100 million under a UK guarantee for the payment of pensions to citizens for July 2023. This was reported by the press service of the Ukrainian Ministry of Finance.
“Thanks to the funds provided, we are able to continue <...> ensure priority expenditures of the state budget,” said Deputy Minister of Finance of Ukraine Sergei Marchenko.
The department noted that since the beginning of the Russian special operation, the UK has provided Ukraine with financial assistance in the amount of $1.6 billion.
At the beginning of September, another aid package for Ukraine was announced in the United States. The White House decided to allocate another $600 million to support Kyiv. The new package included missiles and equipment to support the operation of air defense systems, shells for HIMARS MLRS, 105-mm artillery shells, electronic warfare equipment and mine clearance equipment. Ukraine also received from the USA on September 10 the first batch of nuclear fuel. September 25 media learnedthat the first American Abrams tanks were delivered to Ukraine.
