Ukraine needs to admit defeat and start negotiations: the Pope spoke in the words of Medvedev

Dmitry Medvedev divided Ukraine, the issue of sending NATO troops to it is being worked out according to a well-established scheme, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are daily upset that very large Russian bombs have now begun to fall on their heads, and are trying to respond with massive drone raids on “mainland Russia”, the Pope called on Kyiv to raise White flag. That’s what the week was like.

“Ukraine is, of course, Russia,” Dmitry Medvedev said this week at the Knowledge marathon in Sirius. And he showed on the big screen a map where part of this “definitely Russia” was still under the Ukrainian flag, and another part was divided between Poland, Hungary and Romania. In general, I engaged in classic bargaining. But I am glad that I am bargaining from a position of strength. When every next proposal from Russia is worse for the enemy.

Macron rushed to bargain from the other side. True, I didn’t come up with anything new. The scheme is old, tested on tanks and missiles. Only now instead of hardware there are NATO soldiers. First, an “impossible” proposal was made to introduce a military contingent of some NATO country into Ukraine, then a discussion and search for camouflage options began (well, they will come like that, in pretend, only for training and mine clearance). This week, the next step in the scheme was taken: France will assemble a coalition of countries willing to send soldiers.

Fundamentally, this will not change anything except the timing of the completion of the hot phase of the conflict. And this is clear to absolutely everyone. But the scales, on one of which are “losses”, on the other “gains”, are still fluctuating – world players continue to feverishly count.

A little fact. In his annual State of the Union address, Biden spent more time (according to CNN) on the Middle East (Israel and the Houthis) (5 minutes, 21 seconds) than on Russia and Ukraine (3 minutes, 47 seconds).

Strangely enough, it is possible to influence the calculations “it’s more profitable to continue – it’s more profitable to finish.” But only with something real.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine told how they shot down 10-15-20 or even all Russian bombers in a week (for the last case of “shooting down”, the commander of the Ukrainian Air Force Oleshchuk released last year’s photo of burning grass near Mariupol, which his own people convicted him of). And these successes, they say, led to a decrease in the use of glide bombs by the Russians. But they received a knife in the back from the Americans. For their thoroughly anti-Russian, propaganda “Institute for the Study of War,” which every time talked about “victories” where there was no sign of them, completely unexpectedly told Kyiv: you’re lying. The Russians have not lost anything. Just as they bombed (up to 100 sorties a day), so they bomb.

And then it turned out that the FAB-1500 was put into production and is being successfully used, as Bild and CNN write about. One and a half tons of blessed “cast iron” leave a huge crater in the ground, and the fireball of the explosion rises to the height of a 20-story building. Actually, CNN quotes the words of the Ukrainian military on this matter. More precisely, one most important word is hell. This is reality.

Just like, however, the increasing frequency of attacks by Ukrainian drones on Russian targets. One of the most massive ones was at the aircraft plant in Taganrog this week. But, firstly, the reconnaissance worked well – the planes were redeployed in advance. Secondly, the air defense worked well – we fought off 41 enemy UAVs. Here, as military bloggers write, a similar situation occurred in Laos. So the next day, the personnel were forced to walk around the field and collect cartridges – for there is nothing more sacred to the Laotian Ministry of Defense than report books. We should probably share the experience of the Northern Military District with Laos – we have already gotten rid of such nonsense in two years.

At the end of the week, an interview with the Pope was published. It is not clear whether he watched Medvedev’s speech in Sirius, but he literally said the following: “I believe that the stronger one is the one who sees the situation, the one who thinks about people, the one who has the courage to raise the white flag and negotiate. Today it is possible to negotiate with the help of international powers. The word “negotiation” is bold. When you see that you are failing, that things are going wrong, you need to have the courage to negotiate. Shame on you, but how many deaths will this end in? It’s time to negotiate, to look for some country that will act as a mediator. Now in the conflict in Ukraine there are many who want to act as mediators, in particular Turkey. Don’t be ashamed to negotiate before the situation gets worse.”

It is worth noting here that Francis spoke about the need for negotiations before, but, as Ukrainian media note, for the first time he used terms such as “white flag” or “defeated” in relation to Ukraine.
