Ukraine began the evacuation of the Kupyansky district

Since August 9, the Ukrainian authorities have evacuated 204 people from the Kupyansky district, and about half of this number left the settlements in the last 24 hours, Oleg Sinegubov, head of the Kharkiv regional military administration, said on August 13.

During the day, as Sinegubov specified in his Telegram channel, 111 people were evacuated from the Kupyansky district. Starting from August 9, when the authorities for the first time urged residents to leave the territory of the district, 204 people left for other parts of the Kharkiv region and the rest of Ukraine.

According to him, fighting continues in the Kupyansk direction.

On August 9, the acting head of the military administration of the Kupyansky district, Andrei Kanashevich, called on residents to evacuate. Sinegubov then stated that more than 11,000 people in the area could be evacuated.

The next day, August 10, was announced mandatory evacuation of the Kupyansky district. The order of the military administration reported that the events would be held in “close to the combat zone” territories. In particular, evacuation was announced for residents of the left bank of the Oskol River in Kupyansk, in the village of Kovsharovka and the city of Kupyansk-Uzlovaya. In total, the document refers to 37 settlements.

For the past few months, the Russian Ministry of Defense has been reporting a successful offensive in the Kupyansk direction. On August 9, the department stated that six attacks and counterattacks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were repelled in the Novoselovsky districts in the LPR. A day earlier, the Ministry of Defense reported that Russian forces had taken more advantageous positions in the Olshan region of the Kharkiv region.

On August 8, the head of the military-civilian administration (CAA) of the region, Vitaly Ganchev, said that the RF Armed Forces had taken control of five settlements in the Kharkiv region. According to him, the movement of Russian forces “deep into enemy territory is quite active.”

In the latest report on the course of the special operation of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reportedthat in the Kupyansk direction, the Russian military successfully repelled six attacks and counterattacks by units of three brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the areas of the settlements of Novoselovskoye LPR, as well as Sinkovka and the Mankovka tract of the Kharkov region.
