Due to the blockade of the border by Polish carriers, the volume of Ukrainian exports decreased by 40 percent, the newspaper Zerkalo Nedeli reports, citing a statement by the Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yulia Sviridenko.
In November, the total volume of exports of Ukrainian goods amounted to 9.2 million tons, of which 783 thousand tons were freight transport. The largest volume of exports passed through the Polish border – 282 thousand tons, which is 40 percent less than before the strike of Polish carriers, the minister emphasized.
At some checkpoints, such as Yagodin – Dorogusk and Rava-Russkaya – Khrebnoye, exports almost stopped or fell by half. Sviridenko assured that the Ukrainian authorities are actively resolving the situation, conducting a dialogue with both sides. Kyiv hopes for a positive resolution of the problem.
