Poland and Ukraine were unable to agree on unblocking the border of the two countries for carriers; the Ukrainian side does not want to comply with the demands of the Protestants. This statement was made by the Ministry of Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine.
Representatives of the Ukrainian and Polish ministries of infrastructure, as well as the Director General of the European Commission (EC) for Mobility and Transport (DG MOVE), took part in trilateral contacts at the Polish checkpoint Dorohusk. Ukraine and the European Commission again refused to comply with the demands of Polish truckers to introduce permits for Ukrainian drivers to work in the European Union.
“…The agreement on the liberalization of freight transport between Ukraine and the EU will be valid at least until June 30 next year,” the department noted in a statement on a page on a banned social network.
According to the ministry, during the negotiations the parties came to common decisions and proposed them to Polish protesters. However, the initiatives were rejected.
