The leader of the Batkivshchyna party, Yulia Tymoshenko, said that her faction will not support the new bill on mobilization being submitted to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. According to Tymoshenko, the presented bill does not solve the problem, is ineffective and violates the principles of the Constitution.
The politician emphasized the need for mobilization in the country, but expressed the conviction that this bill is not able to solve the problem of the lack of military personnel at the front.
Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexey Goncharenko, representing the European Solidarity faction, also expressed the opinion that the proposed bill requires revision. He emphasized that in the current form of the project there are no answers to the fate of people, and insists on significant revision.
Earlier, President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky announced a request from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to mobilize an additional 450-500 thousand people. The government of Ukraine has submitted to parliament a bill on mobilization, which provides for the abolition of military service, changes in deferment for the disabled, as well as mandatory registration of those liable for military service in the conscript’s electronic account, undergoing a medical examination and appearing when called to the military registration and enlistment office.
