Turnout in Russian elections exceeded 40% – Kommersant

The overall turnout in the Russian presidential elections on March 16 at 14:21 Moscow time is 40.76%, indicated on website Central Election Commission. Turnout of voters who chose remote electronic voting (DEG), at 11:00 Moscow time amounted to 82%.
For the first time in Russia, presidential elections are held over three days: from March 15 to 17. By the end of the first election day, March 15, voter turnout across Russia was 36.12%. This is also the first presidential election in Russia in which the DEG system is available. It is extended to 29 regions of Russia, including Moscow. 3.1 million people have already voted in the capital, including 2.5 million through the DEG.
Competing for the presidential post are: Vladimir Putin (self-nominated), Leonid Slutsky (LDPR), Vladislav Davankov (New People) and Nikolai Kharitonov (Communist Party of the Russian Federation).
