Turkish Ziraat Bank does not stop servicing Mir cards

[ad_1]

There were no complaints from the Russians when using Mir cards, according to the press service of the Turkish Ziraat Bank, a state-owned bank founded in 1863. VakfBank and Halk Bank also received no complaints from the Russians. Ziraat Bank stated that they continue to service this Russian card. Yesterday, September 19, against the background of possible US sanctions on Mir, Turkish banks Is Bankasi and DenizBank stopped servicing cards.

“Yes, you can use this card,” the bank told RIA Novosti.

On September 19, Is Bankasi and DenizBank ATMs reported an error when using the Mir card, giving it back.

On September 15, the United States Department of the Treasury announced that it could impose sanctions on the use of the Mir payment system outside of Russia “in response to Russia’s support for sanctions avoidance.” At the moment, Mir cards are accepted by 11 countries: Turkey, Vietnam, South Korea, Armenia, Uzbekistan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, South Ossetia, Abkhazia. In Turkey, transactions with Mir, in addition to Is Bankasi and DenizBank, are carried out by VakfBank, Ziraat Bank and Halkbank.
