Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan may visit Russia soon to discuss with Russian leader Vladimir Putin the terms of resuming the Black Sea grain deal initiative. This was reported on August 22, citing sources in the Turkish presidential administration, by the Yeni Safak newspaper, which is close to the ruling Justice and Development Party. The publication notes that after Moscow’s withdrawal from the agreement, the parties have made “serious progress” to restore the deal.

The interlocutors of the Turkish edition assess the new route for transporting Ukrainian grain through the land territory of Europe without the participation of Moscow and Ankara as “unhealthy”. To discuss the issues of resuming the Black Sea routes, Turkish Presidential Advisor Akif Çağatay Kılıç plans to visit Ukraine in the near future, while Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan plans to visit Russia, the publication noted. Vedomosti sent a request to the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov.
