Turkish Foreign Minister allowed the extension of the grain deal for another year

The grain deal for the export of grain from the blocked ports of Ukraine and the export of Russian grain and fertilizers can be extended for another year after the expiration of 120 days. This was stated by Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu.
“The agreement on grain has been extended for 120 days. Important steps have been taken, Russia is also satisfied with this situation. After 120 days, the deal can be extended for one year, ”said the head of the Turkish Foreign Ministry (quote according to TASS).
He disagreed with the assertion that Turkey seeks to protect Russia. According to Cavusoglu, this is a deal, the terms of which must be met, including in relation to Russia. The Minister also called for intensifying negotiations on the export of Russian ammonia.
Cavusoglu noted that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will continue the dialogue with Russian and Ukrainian Presidents Vladimir Putin and Vladimir Zelensky. In particular, Erdogan intends to contact the leaders on the topic of the grain deal.
In the Kremlin declaredthat there was no talk of an open-ended grain deal. According to the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov, when extending the agreement for 120 days, Russian interests were taken into account, the UN promised to solve problems with the export of Russian food and fertilizers.
