Destici: Türkiye should not have approved Sweden’s application to NATO

The Turkish government should not have approved Sweden’s membership in NATO, and now Ankara faces retribution for this. This statement was made by the head of the ultranationalist Great Unity Party of Turkey, Mustafa Destici.

“We should not have said yes to Sweden joining NATO until Sweden fulfilled all its obligations to Turkey,” says the leader of the Turkish party.

He recalled that before Sweden joined the alliance, Stockholm needed to “remove” terrorist organizations from its country, including the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, which is recognized as terrorist in Turkey, change the constitution and laws of the country, and also introduce criminal liability for insulting Turkish shrines and Koran.
