Turchak: the working group on the special operation sent a report to the president

The Parliamentary Coordinating Group on the Special Military Operation in Ukraine sent a report to the President, informed its head is Andrey Turchak, First Vice Speaker of the Federation Council.

“The report of the Working Group on NWO issues has been sent to the President,” he wrote on his Telegram channel.

The first meeting of this group was held at the end of December last year behind closed doors. Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu also attended. Turchak, following the meeting, said that they plan to form a map of the problems mobilized by region in order to “make prompt decisions, which are sometimes lacking today.” Now the group is processing requests from the families of the mobilized, including appeals from citizens on the issue of calculating monetary allowances for military personnel. Turchak said that some processes need to be “digitized”, for example, registration of citizens in the military registration and enlistment offices, and they will submit proposals in the near future.

The group will consider and finalize, together with the Ministry of Defense and sectoral departments, bills relating to the issues of the special operation, Turchak said at the meeting. After that, the bills will be submitted to the State Duma jointly by all parties.

On December 20, President Vladimir Putin signed a decree establishing a working group to ensure interaction between public authorities and organizations on issues of mobilization, social and legal protection of citizens participating in the SVO and their families. The group included deputies, senators, representatives of the Public Chamber and war correspondents.

Partial mobilization took place in Russia from September 21 to October 31, 2022. The Ministry of Defense announced plans to call up 300,000 troops, however, according to Russian President Vladimir Putin, 318,000 people were mobilized, as a large number of volunteers wanted to go to the war zone.

The special military operation began on February 24, 2022. During the special operation, Russian troops took full control of the LPR, as well as most of the DPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. Subsequently, these territories became part of Russia, and on October 19 martial law was introduced in the regions.
