Tsarev warned of a possible tsunami at the Kakhovka reservoir

The dam on the Kakhovka reservoir can be destroyed by the shock wave from the explosion of a simple barge with tons of explosives. The disgraced Ukrainian politician Oleg Tsarev spoke about this option for the actions of the armed forces of Ukraine (APU). He referred to a conversation with a Kyiv politician who claims that it is possible to destroy the dam without blowing it up. It turns out that the APU can get the desired effect by loading explosives onto a barge and blowing it upstream. In this case, the wave from the explosion will destroy the dam.
According to Tsarev, “in order to raise a wave sufficient to overflow the dam, it is necessary to detonate a large amount of explosives and not very far from the dam, a maximum of one and a half kilometers.” He recalled that theoretically, a nuclear or thermonuclear explosion is used to organize a tsunami, but Ukraine does not have such charges. The conclusion that Oleg Tsarev makes is that the river still needs to be monitored. “If you don’t follow, then some ship may come close,” the politician concluded.
