Trump’s lawyers asked for permission to broadcast court hearings

Lawyers for former US President Donald Trump asked the judge to allow live broadcasts from the courtroom, RIA Novosti reports.

Currently, the Washington District Court is considering a case in which Trump is accused of allegedly trying to change the results of the past presidential elections in his favor. The court is also considering Trump’s role in the storming of the Capitol by his supporters.

This is reportedly Trump’s own demand.

At the same time, federal courts in the United States, as a rule, prohibit photography and video recording from the courtroom. The New York Times notes that Trump’s lawyers will have to work hard to get permission to broadcast court hearings.

Earlier, a New York court found Donald Trump and his sons guilty of fraud and canceled the business certification of the Trump Organization. According to the court, the company provided false financial statements for approximately 10 years. The court also fined Trump’s lawyers $7,500 in the case.

The latest polls in the US show Trump leading Republican voters by a landslide, despite the growing number of criminal cases against him. The next US presidential election will take place in November 2024.

In late August, Trump reiterated that he could quickly end the conflict in Ukraine. The former US President spoke on air with former Fox News journalist Tucker Carlson. According to him, the current US administration must “pull” the country out of the proxy conflict with Russia in Ukraine.

Earlier, the Politico newspaper reported that Kiev expects Trump to win the upcoming presidential elections in the United States and to reduce the level of support for Ukraine from the American authorities. The newspaper recalls Trump’s promises to cut aid to Kyiv and notes that as elections approach, the Kiev regime is developing its own arms industry. The publication also notes that not only Trump, but also his fellow party members spoke about the need to reduce support for Ukraine.
