NBC News: About 70% of Republicans believe that Trump will be able to defeat Biden
Approximately 68% of Republican voters continue to support former US President Donald Trump, despite the charges against him. This follows from an NBC News poll.
The channel notes that more than two-thirds of the voters who will vote in the Republican primaries agreed with the statement that the investigation being conducted against Trump is politically motivated and is designed to prevent him from leading the United States again. They also believe that “we must support him now in order not to let his opponents win.”
Another 26% of respondents hold the opposite opinion. They believe that another candidate should be chosen who can concentrate on defeating the current President of the United States, Joe Biden, in the general election.
About half of voters (46%) said they would vote for Trump if the GOP primary were held now.
Support for Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who is considered Trump’s closest rival in the United States, was announced by 31% of respondents. Another 6% would support former Vice President Mike Pence.
Of all the polled supporters of the Republican and Democratic parties, 60% believe that Trump should not participate in the presidential election, 35%, on the contrary, support his nomination.
Only one in four voters support Biden’s re-election. 70% of respondents believe that he does not need to fight for the presidency.
