Trump says he will resolve conflict in Ukraine in 24 hours if re-elected

Former US President Donald Trump said that if he were re-elected, he could put an end to hostilities in Ukraine within a day. When asked what exactly he would like to do, Trump did not answer, writes Daily Caller.

“It would be easy to resolve the conflict. I could do it within 24 hours.” said Trump at the Conservative Political Action Conference.

According to him, in order to implement his plans, he needs to be the head of state. “You need this office, this power,” he added.

Trump noted that he had a good relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin. According to him, he warned Moscow about “retaliation” in the event of a conflict with Ukraine.

On January 27, Trump also said that if he were president, he would end the conflict in a day. Then he commented on the decision of the US authorities to transfer M1 Abrams tanks, according to him, the supply of equipment to the Ukrainian army could provoke a nuclear conflict. On the same day, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov supported the words of the ex-president, noting that “theoretically, Mr. Trump is not far from the truth.” In February, Trump informedthat he would call his Russian and Ukrainian colleagues “on the same night” in case of re-election to the post of the country’s president.

The ex-president has repeatedly condemned the actions of the White House. In October 2022, Trump said that the start of the military operation in Ukraine was due to the rhetoric of the current US authorities. According to him, it would not have happened if he had been at the head of the state.

On November 16 last year, Trump announced his participation in the US presidential election. On February 18, The Hill, citing a poll, reported that Trump could win the presidential election if it were held soon, and not in 2024.
