Trump did not rule out that Ukraine will have to cede part of the territory

Former US President Donald Trump did not rule out that in order to resolve the conflict, Ukraine would have to cede part of the territory to Russia, transmits Reuters.

“I think they would have the right to keep a lot of what they deserve, and I think Russia would agree to that. We need the right mediator or negotiator, and we don’t have that right now,” he said in a telephone interview with the agency.

Trump noted that if he were the President of the United States, then “everything would be negotiable.”

The politician also said that the main thing that the current US government can do is “reconcile Russia and Ukraine and make peace.” Trump called for “bringing the two sides together to bring about peace.”

Previously “make concessions” to “put an end to hostilities” urged Ukraine is another US presidential candidate from the Republican Party, Vivek Ramaswamy. Among the possible concessions, the politician named “freezing the current line of contact in the style of the Korean War” and the US commitment to prevent Ukraine from joining NATO.

The Russian special operation in Ukraine began on February 24, 2022. During the hostilities, Russian troops took control of the LPR, as well as most of the DPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. Subsequently, these territories became part of the Russian Federation as a result of referendums.
