Trump asked to consider immunity in election interference case

Former US President Donald Trump is asking the Supreme Court to examine whether he has immunity in the 2020 election interference case. Court documents released Monday show his appeal seeking a stay of the D.C. District Court’s decision.
The appeals court previously ruled that Trump is not immune from prosecution over allegations of his involvement in efforts to maintain power after the 2020 election and events on Capitol Hill.
