Former US President Donald Trump intends to once again compete for the presidency in the elections in 2024. He officially announced this during an address to supporters, speaking from his estate Mar-a-Lago in Florida, transmits CNN.

“Today I announce my candidacy for the presidency of the United States,” Trump said. According to him, he plans to make America “great and glorious” again.

The former American president, shortly before making an official statement, handed over the documents on his nomination to the Federal Election Commission, CNN clarifies.

Donald Trump has gone down in history as the 45th President of the United States. He was in office from 2017 to 2021. Trump lost the presidential election in 2020, but refused to admit defeat and repeatedly stated that he intended to participate in the next presidential race.

Prior to this, Reuters and The Washington Post reported on the politician’s plans for the third time to participate in the presidential race. In particular, the agency wrotethat Trump will formally launch his re-election campaign after the US midterm elections. At the same time, the current head of state, Joe Biden, is also going to fight for the presidency. On November 10, he said that he intended to run again, specifying that he would make a final decision in early 2023.
