Donald Trump reiterated that he could quickly end the war in Ukraine. The former US president spoke on air with former Fox News journalist Tucker Carlson.
According to him, the current US administration should “pull” the country out of the proxy conflict with Russia in Ukraine.
“It can be done, it’s not that hard. Of course he [Байден] unable to do this because he is incompetent, but this war must end immediately,” he said.
According to Trump, this should be done not for the sake of one side or another, “but simply because hundreds and thousands of people die.”
“Imagine that you are sitting in your apartment, and suddenly rockets fly into the house, and everything collapses. And it doesn’t matter if they are Russians or Ukrainians, this must stop. And it’s pretty easy to stop. If I had been president, this war would not have started,” he said.
Earlier, the Politico newspaper reported that in Kyiv they expect Trump’s victory in the upcoming US presidential election and a decrease in the level of support for Ukraine from the US authorities. The newspaper recalls Trump’s promises to cut aid to Kyiv and notes that as elections approach, the Kiev regime is developing its own arms industry. The publication also notes that not only Trump spoke about the need to reduce support for Ukraine, but also his fellow party members.
The results of the latest public opinion polls in the United States show that Trump is in the lead by a multiple margin in the popularity rating among Republican voters, despite the growing number of criminal cases against him. The next US presidential election will take place in November 2024.
