Trains are delayed due to an emergency with passenger and freight trains near Krasnoyarsk
Trains traveling from Abakan to Krasnoyarsk and back are delayed, as a train collision occurred earlier on the section. This was reported by the press service of the Krasnoyarsk Railway.
The incident occurred on April 2 at 00:40 local time on the Zhaima-Mana section. Three carriages of a freight train derailed and collided with the locomotive of passenger train No. 123, traveling from Krasnoyarsk to Abakan. This led to a delay in the movement of train No. 123. Train No. 124, which runs from Abakan to Krasnoyarsk, is also delayed.
According to representatives of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, no one was injured as a result of the emergency. Other passenger trains were not affected by the collision. To restore traffic, specialized trains were brought in from the Koshurnikovo and Sayanskaya stations. An operational headquarters was created at JSC Russian Railways to coordinate restoration work. The causes of the incident are being investigated.
