Trade turnover between Russia and Georgia decreased by 12% – Kommersant

In the first two months of 2024, trade turnover between Russia and Georgia amounted to $410.6 million. This is 12% less than in January and February 2023. About it reported National Statistics Service of Georgia.

According to the department, in the first two months Georgia imported goods from the Russian Federation totaling $313.7 million. This is 7.4% less than in January-February last year. At the same time, exports to the Russian Federation for two months amounted to $96.8 million – 24.5% less than last year.

During the reporting period, Georgia exported to the Russian Federation:

  • natural wines – by $35.9 million (an increase of 33.2%);
  • alcoholic beverages – by $16.4 million (an increase of 46.1%);
  • mineral and fresh water – by $11.6 million (an increase of 8.2%);
  • citrus fruits – by $7.1 million (an increase of 240%).

During the reporting period, Georgia imported from the Russian Federation:

  • oil and petroleum products – by $90.1 million (a decrease of 20.5%);
  • other hydrocarbons – by $64.5 million (a decrease of 6%);
  • wheat – by $11.8 million (an increase of 14.8%).

Russia remains in second place after Turkey in terms of trade turnover with Georgia.
