In value terms, the bulk of goods imported from the Russian Federation to China were oil, natural gas and coal. Russian copper, timber, fuel and seafood are also supplied to China. China exports smartphones, industrial and special equipment, toys, shoes, vehicles, air conditioners and computers to Russia.
At the end of 2022, trade turnover between Russia and China increased by 29.3%, to a record $190.271 billion. Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation Maxim Oreshkin called China is a key Russian partner. In October, Vladimir Putin during negotiations with Chinese President Xi Jinping statedthat Moscow and Beijing have already reached a trade volume of $200 billion. Federal Customs Service awaits growth in trade turnover between Russia and China at the end of the year to $220 billion.
