Trade turnover between Russia and China in January–February 2024 amounted to $37.01 billion, the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China reported. The indicator grew by 9.3% year on year.
Exports from China to Russia grew by 12.5% in two months, to $16.8 billion, reports TASS statistics data. Imports from Russia to China increased by 6.7%, to $20.2 billion. Russia’s surplus amounted to $3.4 billion, which is 5.8% less than in the same period in 2023.
Most of China’s imports from Russia are oil, natural gas and coal. Copper, copper ore, timber, fuel and seafood are also imported into China. China exports cars, smartphones, industrial and specialized equipment, toys, shoes, computers and other goods to Russia.
Trade turnover between the Russian Federation and China at the end of 2022 increased by 29.3%, to $190 billion, in 2023 – by 26.3%, to $240.1 billion. The share of developed countries in Russian imports at the end of 2023 decreased from 47% to 17%, and China – increased from 27% to 45%.
