Trade turnover between Russia and China grew by 41% in four months of 2023 – Kommersant

The trade turnover between Russia and China in January-April amounted to $71.15 billion. The indicator increased by 41.3% compared to the same period in 2022. The growth rate of trade turnover accelerated: in January-March, the indicator increased by 38.7%.
The information of the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China is given by TASS. Exports from China to Russia amounted to $33.69 billion, up 67.2% from a year earlier. Imports from Russia grew to $39.46 billion (+24.8%). In April, Russia sent goods worth $19.23 billion to China, and China delivered goods worth $9.61 billion to Russia.
In 2022, mutual trade between China and Russia grew by almost 30% against the backdrop of a reorientation of Russian exports and imports to the East. Following the talks of Chinese President Xi Jinping in Moscow, Beijing and Moscow agreed to increase trade and “optimize” its structure, develop logistics, and raise the level of financial cooperation.
