The French company TotalEnergies has decided to transfer the lubricants production plant in the Kaluga region to the Russian management. About this in a conversation with TASS informed Egor Popov, commercial and marketing director of Top Lubricants LLC, who became the new owner of the plant.
According to him, now the company will be called “Top Lubricants”, the plant will produce oils under the Lemarc brand. Popov specified that the new owner was registered on March 2.
As the commercial director noted, the production of oils will resume in March. In particular, from March 15, the plant will start working in a normal mode. Until that time, tests will be carried out.
A plant in the Kaluga region for the production of motor oils and lubricants with a capacity of about 40,000 tons per year (first line) was open in 2018. The construction of the plant near Kaluga was started by the company in early 2016, by the time the project was launched, the volume of investments in the project amounted to about $50 million. At the same time, the plant assumed the launch of a second line, which would increase the capacity to 70,000 tons per year.
