Tokyo will allocate additional funds in the amount of $1 billion to Ukraine, the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced after the G7 online summit.

Prime Minister Fumio Kishida stressed that the assistance will cover the humanitarian sphere and contribute to the reconstruction of the country. In preparation for this decision, Japan has also expressed its willingness to provide loans through the World Bank, which will increase the total amount of support to $4.5 billion.

It was previously announced that the World Bank would provide a loan guaranteed by the Japanese government.
