President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev suggested that by 2040 humanity may face water shortages. Demand will exceed supply by 40 percent, Tokayev said at the 78th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.
Tokayev said countries should join forces and act as soon as possible to avoid economic and other problems in the event of water shortages.
The President of Kazakhstan also recommended that states invest in “green” jobs.
