Tokayev announced issues requiring negotiations in relations between Russia and Kazakhstan

There are some issues in relations between Russia and Kazakhstan, in particular, in the gas sector, that require negotiations, but there is no dramatization here, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said at a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

“Yes, there are issues that require additional coordination and even negotiations. In particular, we are talking about the gas sector… They require discussion, but absolutely without any dramatization. These are work questions.” leads his words to RIA Novosti.

Tokayev added that he told Russian President Vladimir Putin about this, expressing confidence that the relevant agreements would be reached.

Tokayev arrived in Moscow on an official visit yesterday, November 27. As noted in the press service of the President of Kazakhstan, the visit is being held at the invitation of Putin. This visit was the first international visit of the President of Kazakhstan after his re-election to the post, which he assumed on November 26.

Today Putin and Tokaev signed declaration on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. In it, the leaders of Russia and Kazakhstan called for joint capacity building of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO). In addition, the parties agreed to expand cooperation on sanitary and epidemiological well-being, implement projects to combat infections, as well as strengthen cooperation in the energy sector, and create conditions for the transit of energy resources to third countries. Putin and Tokayev also reaffirmed their commitment to the careful preservation of historical truth.
