Times: UK to end financial support for Ukraine’s army by year-end

The financial support of the army of Ukraine from the UK will cease by the end of the year, as the kingdom’s resources allocated for these purposes will run out, the newspaper reports. Times citing a source in the British Ministry of Defense.
“The UK is running out of weapons that it can transfer to Ukraine. The reality is that the financial contribution of the United Kingdom will dry up by the end of the year, ”the newspaper says (quoted from “RIA News”).
The publication notes that the new prime minister, who will take the place of the resigned Boris Johnson, will have to decide whether it is worth spending “billions of pounds” to support Kyiv in the current economic situation.
25 August UK signed an agreement with Ukraine on providing assistance in the restoration of infrastructure. It is noted that under the signed agreement, the UK will provide Ukraine with the assistance of experts from British private companies and enterprises in the restoration of airports, runways and ports. According to the press service of the British government, at the moment the total amount of assistance allocated to Ukraine by the UK is almost 4 billion pounds in the form of multilateral loan guarantees and more than 100 million pounds of bilateral support.
Previously Boris Johnson announced on the allocation of a new package of military assistance to Ukraine in the amount of 54 million pounds. It included 200 modern unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), ammunition, as well as 850 manually launched Black Hornet microdrones, which are designed for use in cities and villages.
